Fraser Edwards (Co-founder and CEO)
Fraser Edwards is pioneering the development of the cheqd network that empowers businesses to create and leverage digital credentials while addressing the commercial challenges of self-sovereign identity (SSI). Under his leadership, cheqd is at the forefront of transforming digital identity solutions, making them more accessible and viable for organisations globally.
With a robust background as a consultant, Fraser has extensive experience working across various technologies and industries on an international scale. He specialises in decentralized identity, blockchain-based payments, and FinTech, bringing a unique blend of business acumen and technical expertise to his roles. Throughout his career, Fraser has successfully managed complex projects, delivering innovative solutions that push the boundaries of what’s possible in the digital economy. Highlights include:

Ankur Banerjee (Co-founder and CTO)
Ankur oversees the engineering department to ensure our diverse suite of identity and trust products are built to a high standard to meet the needs of organisations and individual users. He co-chairs the Technical Steering Committee at the Decentralised Identity Foundation (DIF). Ankur is a co-inventor on multiple patents in cloud AI and blockchain, including the Hyperledger Bevel - a blockchain automation framework. His expertise spans distributed tech architecture, digital identity, and biometrics. His career spans being a blockchain engineering lead at Accenture, head of engineering at IDWorks (a digital identity startup), and product innovation manager at R3 (an enterprise blockchain company).

Tasos Derisiotis (Head of Engineering)
Tasos is a seasoned software engineer, entrepreneur, and technical leader with a deep expertise in cryptocurrency, blockchain innovation, and tokenomics. Over the past six years, he has led the development of large-scale projects that integrate blockchain technology, complex microservices, and advanced applications. Alex Tweeddale (Product Manager and Governance Lead)
At cheqd, Alex plays a pivotal role in driving the adoption of decentralized digital identity by leading product development and governance initiatives, ensuring that decentralized identity solutions are both commercially viable and technically robust. His career is marked by a deep commitment to advancing decentralized identity and governance, with a track record of successfully navigating complex projects and shaping the future of digital identity technologies.
Prior to cheqd, Alex served as Product and Compliance Manager at Spherity, managing projects with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and contributing to digital identity solutions for global supply chains. They were also involved in the COVID Credentials Initiative (CCI) and played a key role in governance frameworks for digital identity. At IDWorks, Alex developed a solution for verified COVID-19 status proofs, co-writing a proposal that won R3's Corda COVID challenge. With a strong focus on decentralized identity and governance, Alex is shaping the future of digital identity technologies.
Alex serves as the Co-Chair of the Trust over IP Utility Foundry Working Group (ToIP UFWG). The role is instrumental in creating a guiding and comparison framework for evaluating different Layer 1/2 utilities in the decentralised identity space, contributing to the advancement of global standards and best practices.
